ABOUT THE MONTANA STATE DATA CENTER PROGRAM
Montana State Data Center Program
The Census and Economic Information Center is Montana's lead agency in the U.S. Census Bureau's State Data Center (SDC) and Business/Industry Data Center (BIDC) Programs. Montana's State Data Center Program has a network of twenty-nine affiliates throughout the state comprised of local libraries, economic development organizations, local and tribal governments, and university organizations which all provide census and economic data to the public.
Since 1978, the State Data Center (SDC) Program has provided training and technical assistance in accessing and using Census data for research, administration, planning, and decision making by the government, the business community, university researchers, and other interested data users. The Business and Industry Data Center (BIDC) Program, initiated in 1988, supports the business community by expanding SDC services to government, academic, and non-profit organizations that directly serve businesses.
