1990 CENSUS PUBLIC LAW 94-171 REDISTRICTING DATA
1990 Public Law 94-171, which amended the Census Law (Title 13, United States Code,) was enacted by Congress in 1975. The purpose of this law is to provide state legislatures with small-area census population totals for legislative redistricting. This was the first file released and was used for the Legislative Redistricting Program. These are 100% data available for counties, places, census designated places (CDP's) and reservations. Data for census divisions, census tracts/BNA's, census block groups and census blocks are also available by contacting CEIC. Included are total population, age 18 years and over, race, population density and housing units.
